Council Approves Key Financial Resolutions in April Meeting
CROOKSVILLE, OH — The Crooksville Village Council held its regular meeting on April 7, 2025, with Mayor Mohler calling the meeting to order and five council members in attendance. Councilman Walters was absent.
The Council approved a series of financial items including Fiscal Officer’s minutes and reports, March’s Mayor’s Court report, and four separate financial resolutions. Resolutions 33 through 36 involved interfund transfers, Star Ohio transfers, a payment listing, and payroll reports.
Each motion passed unanimously among those present.
Lifeguards Approved for Summer Pool Season
CROOKSVILLE, OH — Crooksville residents can look forward to a fully staffed village pool this summer. During the April 7th Council meeting, the council approved the hiring of 11 lifeguards at a rate of $10.70 per hour.
The approved lifeguards include Ella Shipley, Drake Horn, Kellie Caton, Harleigh Keirns, Collin Pease, Bridan Hall, Jada May, Laken Hall, Makenzie Jones, Alainnah Lantz, and Gabe Sandefur.
With staffing in place, the village pool is on track to open on time, ensuring a safe and fun summer for families.
Fuzz’s Frosty Snow Cones to Return for Community Days
CROOKSVILLE, OH — A sweet summer staple will be returning to the park this year. The Village Council gave unanimous approval for Fuzz’s Frosty Snow Cones & Treats to participate in Community Days and operate from the park grounds.
This addition is expected to enhance the festive spirit of Community Days and provide a refreshing option for residents enjoying the celebration.

Council Takes First Step Toward Employee Pay Raises
CROOKSVILLE, OH — In a move signaling appreciation for village staff, the Council approved the first reading of Resolution 32-2025, which introduces employee pay raises.
The motion passed with full support from attending members and marks the beginning of a process to increase employee wages, reflecting the village’s ongoing commitment to its workforce.

ODOT Salt Contract for 2025 Approved by Council
CROOKSVILLE, OH — The Council moved swiftly to approve participation in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Salt Contract for 2025. Suspension of the rules was approved first, followed by the passage of Resolution 37-2025.
The salt contract helps ensure the village has necessary supplies during winter months and locks in cost-effective purchasing through the state program.
