Crooksville Council Approves Financial Measures and Sewer Project Payment

The Crooksville Village Council met on Monday, August 18, 2025, with all council members present. Mayor Rodney Mohler called the meeting to order.
Council approved a series of financial items, including the Fiscal Officer’s minutes, financial reports, and the July bank reconciliation. The July Mayor’s Court report was also approved.
Several resolutions passed unanimously, including:
• Resolution 76-2025: Interfund transfers.
• Resolution 77-2025: Reallocations and supplemental appropriations.
• Resolution 78-2025: Payment listing approval.
• Resolution 79-2025: Payroll reports approval.
Additionally, council approved Pay Application #6 to The Righter Company in the amount of $163,727.03 for the ongoing B1/B6 Sewer Project.
The meeting closed with routine business items, all passing by unanimous vote.
Crooksville Adds New Fire and EMS Personnel

At the August 18, 2025, Crooksville Council meeting, several changes were made to strengthen the community’s Fire and EMS departments.
Council approved the reinstatement of Lane Holdren as a Firefighter/EMT at a rate of $11.50 per hour. Two additional hires were made, pending certification:
• Alan Locke was approved to join the Fire Department.
• Camera Locke was approved for Fire/EMS duties.
Mayor Mohler and council members noted the importance of maintaining adequate staffing levels for public safety. All approvals passed unanimously.
Crooksville Hires New Park Caretaker

The Village of Crooksville has appointed Jamie Loterbaugh as the new Park Caretaker at a rate of $12 per hour.
The decision was made during the council’s August 18 meeting, with all members voting in favor. The hiring aims to ensure continued maintenance and improvement of community park facilities.
Council expressed optimism that this addition will support recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
Tunnel Hill Road to Be Renamed

A name change is on the horizon for one of Crooksville’s roads.
During the August 18, 2025, council meeting, the first reading was held for a proposal to change the name of Tunnel Hill Road to Old Water Works Road.
Jason Fulk from the Perry County Engineer’s Office was present for the discussion. The measure passed its first reading with unanimous approval from council. Additional readings will be required before the change becomes official.
