Crooksville Council Approves Financial Measures at May Meeting

Crooksville Hires Seasonal Pool Staff, Sets Free Swim Day

The Crooksville Village Council has approved new hires and seasonal plans for the community pool. Andrew Dorsey was approved as a lifeguard at $10.70 per hour, and Autumn Blair was hired as pool manager at $13.00 per hour.
The council also approved a free swim day on June 28 as part of the village’s Community Celebration Day. Residents are invited to enjoy a day at the pool free of charge as part of the festivities. These moves reflect the village’s commitment to recreation and community engagement during the summer months.
Building Permits Approved for Local Businesses, Residences

The Village Council approved three building permits during its May 19 meeting. Two of these permits were for 826 China Street, home of “The Hangout.” One approved the addition of a new sign, and the other permitted a building addition—both having met all utility requirements.
A third permit was approved for 6 N. Buckeye Street, also confirmed to meet all utility standards. These developments indicate a continued investment in local business growth and infrastructure enhancement within the community.
New Public Safety Staff Approved in Crooksville

Public safety personnel additions were on the agenda during the May 19 council meeting. Greg Tweety introduced himself to the council and was later approved as a full-time police officer at $15 per hour following an executive session.
Additionally, Cheyanne Wheeler was approved to join the EMS team at a rate of $11.50 per hour. These hires reinforce Crooksville’s dedication to ensuring responsive and effective emergency services for its residents.
